Nearly three in five parents say they played outdoors more frequently when they were their childÕs age than their child does now.

Grass stains are the most common stains parents find on their childrenÕs clothing as a result of outdoor play (47%), followed by dirt stains (37%) and fruit punch or juice stains (9%).

Parents who encourage their children to play outside are most likely to do so because it is a good form of exercise (88%) and because it is a good way to get children away from electronics like the computer, television and video games (78%).
